You can claim a refund based on the Energy Savings Guarantee (ESG) by contacting us via chat. You can request an ESG refund only once for tado° heating devices and once for the tado° Smart AC Control*.
Along with the request, you need to send us a copy/photo/scan (pdf or jpg) of your purchase receipt. It doesn’t matter if you bought the product via the tado° webshop or from one of our retail partners.
tado° reserves the right to ask for energy bills of the same period in previous years to compare your energy consumption.
Before claiming the refund, please make sure you meet the following requirements:
For tado° heating devices
You bought the device less than 12 months ago.
The device must have been connected and in use for at least 6 months to be able to prove its benefits to you.
For the tado° Smart AC Control
The device is a Smart AC Control V3+ or V2.
You bought the device less than 100 days ago.
The device must have been connected and in use for at least 2 months to be able to prove its benefits to you.
To allow us to determine whether you meet these requirements, please do not delete your tado° Home. Otherwise, we won’t be able to access any data related to your tado° devices or past conversations, including your refund request. As a result, we won’t be able to process your refund.
After claiming the refund
After we approve your request, we’ll inform you about the next steps of the return process.
You must return your devices in full without any damage and in their original packaging. Once we receive them, you’ll get a full refund of the amount you paid. If you used a tado° specific discount voucher or coupon in your order (i.e. only valid for buying tado° devices), this won’t be refunded.
Please note that costs incurred from professional installation, removal of the devices, in-app purchases and subscriptions are not covered by the ESG.
*A partial claim is not possible. When you claim a refund, you must return all tado° devices that were bought in a single order together.
