Adding consumption data

To get more accurate, personalised estimates, add your previous consumption data and your energy tariff to the tado° app. Go to Settings > Energy IQ, where you’ll be able to:

  • add data from your meter readings or heating bills and specify your energy tariff.

  • select your preferred graph unit (m³/kWh).

  • change your data source and preferred unit of measurement. Please be aware that if you change this selection in the future, your previous data will be deleted and reset.

Adding historical energy tariffs

If you add your consumption data via meter readings, then you can add historical energy tariffs for a better estimation. This will also help you to get a better overview of your heating spendings. To do so, go to Settings > Energy IQ > Energy Tariff in the app.

Here you’ll be able to enter the following information:

  • Unit Price

  • Unit (currency or kWh/m³)

  • Current Tariff (toggle on/off)

  • Starting Date

  • End Date

You can also Delete your Energy Tariff, if needed. However, once deleted, you won’t be able to undo this action.

If you add your consumption data via heating bills, you won’t need to add historical energy tariffs, as this is automatically applied.

Reminder to add Data

You can now activate regular reminders to add your latest data to Energy IQ to get better consumption estimates.

To do so, follow these steps in the app:

  1. Go to Settings, Energy IQ, and

  2. select Reminder to add Data.

  3. Choose how you want to be notified. Toggle both or either In-App Messages or Push Notifications to on.

  4. Select your preferred frequency (once a week, once a month, once a quarter, or once a year).

  5. Select Save to confirm.
