When you change a setting for a tado° product using HomeKit (e.g. with the Apple Home app or Siri), your tado° switches to Manual Control. This happens because the tado° app records the change as a manual change on the device.

You can generally access HomeKit-enabled devices from your iOS devices whilst you are connected to your home Wi-Fi network. To control a HomeKit device from somewhere else, you need an Apple TV, HomePod, or iPad. You can learn more about this on the dedicated Apple HomeKit Website.

tado° features and HomeKit

You can use HomeKit to do the following:

  • Control individual tado° heating and/or cooling rooms (HomeKit does not support Hot Water Control)

  • Measure humidity
