If you have tado° X devices and want to control them with Apple Home, follow the instructions in our article How can I set up my tado° X devices with Apple Home?
To access tado° devices via HomeKit, you need to add them as accessories in the iOS Home App.
Setting up tado° heating devices
As all tado° heating devices are paired to the Internet Bridge, you only need to add the Internet Bridge as an accessory in the iOS Home App.
To do so, please follow these steps:
Make sure that the Internet Bridge is powered and connected to the same network as the iOS device.
Go to the Home App. Tap the Add Accessory button at the bottom of the screen.
Now you have to scan the HomeKit code. The 8-digit code is printed on the side of the Internet Bridge. The code has to be scanned with the camera of your iOS device.
All tado° devices that are paired to the Internet Bridge will now appear in your Apple Home. When a new tado° device is paired to your Internet Bridge, it will automatically be added to HomeKit.
Please note: for security reasons, we are not able to regenerate HomeKit codes. Please do not remove this sticker and/or save a copy of it somewhere. If you lose this code, your tado° won’t work with HomeKit unless you buy a new Internet Bridge.
Setting up the Smart AC Control V3+
To set up the Smart AC Control V3+ with HomeKit, follow these steps:
Make sure that the Smart AC Control is powered.
Go to the Home App. Tap the Add Accessory button at the bottom of the screen.
Now you have to scan the HomeKit code. It is printed on the backside of the Smart AC Control and has to be scanned with the camera of your iOS device.
Follow the instructions in the Home app to complete the setup.
Please note: Some routers generate two different Wi-Fi networks, a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network. To set up tado° with HomeKit, please make sure that your iOS device is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. More information about network specifications can be found in your router’s manual.
