Connect with your car

When you plug in the car, tado° Smart Charging App needs to connect to your car. Because of this, your car will keep on charging for a short period of time. Sometimes it can take several minutes for us to connect to your vehicle. This depends on the internet coverage and the telemetry intervals from your car.

Calibration Time

To optimize the charging of your car we first need to know how fast it can charge at your location. To do that we calibrate your car. Once you plug in your car and we have a connection, the calibration will start. When it is complete the charging will stop and then resume at the most optimal time based on your settings.

If you have set a start time in the app, the charging will be stopped immediately after we connected with your car, and calibration will only happen after the start time.
