To work with your radiator, the Smart Radiator Thermostat needs to define the positions in which the valve is fully open and fully closed. This process is called calibration.

Once successfully calibrated, the device stores these calibration values. If you then want to mount the Smart Radiator Thermostat on a different radiator, you have to reset these calibration values. This is because every radiator valve (even of the same type) has slightly different fully open/closed positions.

To reset the calibration values, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Remove the Smart Radiator Thermostat from the radiator.

  2. The restart is successful when you see ‘Hi’ on the display of the device. For the Smart Radiator Thermostat Basic, the dashes next to the temperature markers on the display will turn on and off.

  3. For both devices, the black pin will retract. Now the device is ready for a new calibration.

  4. To start a new calibration, attach the Smart Radiator Thermostat to the mounting bracket on a different radiator. Turn the head to the right to lock in place.

If you’re moving a Smart Radiator Thermostat to a radiator that doesn’t have a tado° thermostat, you’ll need to move the mounting bracket to the new radiator as well.
