How do I use my tado° V3+ devices with the tado° Stand and Trim Plate?

If you can’t or don’t want to fix your Wireless Temperature Sensor V3+ to the wall, you can use the tado° Stand to position your device on a table or other surface in the room. You can also use the Stand with the Smart AC Control.

This will allow for greater flexibility in positioning your devices to enhance their functionality.

Fitting your device onto the Stand

Wireless Temperature Sensor V3+

To fit the Wireless Temperature Sensor V3+ to the Stand, please do the following:

  1. Remove the backplate of the device.

  2. Remove the terminal cover by unscrewing it from the back side.

  3. Position the backplate on the Stand so that the top screw holes on both pieces are aligned.

  4. Use the screws provided with the Stand to fix the backplate to the Stand as shown.

  5. Close the terminal cover, then clip your device back onto the backplate.

Smart AC Control

To fit the Smart AC Control to the Stand, please do the following:

  1. Unplug the power cable from the device. then

  2. Feed the cable through the slot in the Stand and plug the cable back into the Smart AC Control as shown.

  3. Position the device on the Stand., and

  4. Pull the cable up into the narrower section of the slot to secure the device in place.

For best results, position the Smart AC Control near a power socket, with a clear line of sight to the IR transmitter of the AC unit.

tado° Trim Plate

If you want a quick, clean installation without plastering or paintwork, you can use the tado° Trim Plate to position your device.

Because of the screw spacing, we recommend using the Trim Plate with the Wired Smart Thermostat V3+.

Fitting your device on the Trim Plate

To fit the Wired Smart Thermostat V3+ on the Trim Plate, please do the following:

  1. Carefully remove the piece bridging the two holes with a safety knife to enlarge the opening, and dispose of the removed piece.

  2. Position the Trim Plate over the cable outlet with the arrows on the back pointing up, and use a pencil to mark the drill hole positions.

  3. Drill two 6mm holes at the marked positions for the wall plugs.

  4. Push the wall plugs into the existing drilled holes until they are flush with the wall.

  5. Attach the backplate of the device to the Trim Plate using the rounded screws. Then mount the device until it clicks securely.
