You can subscribe to Balance AC either monthly or annually, with the option to cancel at any time. You’ll get a 30-day free trial to test the benefits of Balance AC before you pay.
To subscribe, follow these steps in the app:
Go to Settings, then
select Balance AC.
Choose your preferred plan and select Start free trial.
Setting up Balance AC
By default, Balance AC is activated for each room that is independently controlled by a tado° Smart AC Control. You can activate/deactivate Balance AC for each room separately if needed.
To do so, follow these steps in the app:
Go to Settings, and
select Balance AC.
Select the room for which you’d like to enable/disable Balance AC, and
toggle Balance AC to the preferred setting, then
select your preferred mode (see below).
Balance AC modes
Modes define how much the room temperature can drop or rise (depending on whether your AC is in heating or cooling mode) below your initial temperature set-point.
You can choose one of the three following modes:
Eco: adjusts your AC's temperature by 3 °C below or above the current set temperature. You’ll get the best savings with this mode.
Standard: adjusts your AC’s temperature by 2 °C below or above the set temperature.
Comfort: adjusts your AC’s temperature by 1 °C below or above the set temperature.
Restore your original temperature set point
When Balance AC has reduced the set-point of your AC, your app will show this on the Room Screen, with a message by Balance AC.
You can restore your original set-point on your AC by selecting Cancel on the Room Screen. Your room will then continue to heat up/cool down according to the previous setting.
You can also use the Quick Action Resume Schedule on the Home screen to resume heating/cooling according to the Smart Schedule for all rooms at once.
Note: this will only override the feature for the current time slot, and Balance AC will change your AC’s set-point again when electricity prices are high at a later point in time.
