My Smart Thermostat shows an E10 error. What does this mean and what can I do?

Your Smart Thermostat shows an E10 error message when the wiring on tado° does not match the way it is set up to control your heating. When this error shows up, tado° will not be able to control your heating.

If tado° was installed by an installer or without using the online installation assistant, please refer to the tado° installer manual to set up your devices correctly.

If tado° was installed using the online installation assistant, please try the following to troubleshoot this error:

  • Make sure that you've completed every step in the online installation assistant. If not, please check that you’ve wired the Smart Thermostat as mentioned in the online installation assistant.
  • If the installation is completed and the error code does not disappear after a while, please restart the Thermostat by pressing and holding the button on it for 10 seconds.
