If your tado° V3+ devices lose internet connection, they’ll still be able to control your heating system while offline.

Your tado° V3+ Smart Thermostats and Smart Radiator Thermostats store heating schedules locally on the individual devices, meaning they’ll continue to follow your Smart Schedule, even if the network connection is lost. The rollout of Offline Smart Schedule for V3+ Smart Thermostats and Smart Radiator Thermostats is ongoing.

Please be aware that Offline Smart Schedule only works for tado° V3+ Smart Thermostats and Smart Radiator Thermostats that are also the Measuring Device of the room. If the Measuring Device goes offline, your Offline Smart Schedule takes effect. If the internet connection is lost, devices belonging to the same room will also follow the Offline Smart Schedule, as long as they can maintain a radio link with the Measuring Device of that room and with the Internet Bridge.

Device offline while set to Smart Schedule

Your tado° devices will follow the Offline Smart Schedule as soon as they go offline, whether in Home or Away Mode.

Device offline while set to Manual Control

Offline Smart Schedule also runs if your devices go offline while they are in Manual Control, as long as you have selected Timer or Until next time block as duration settings in the tado° app, or if you have set the Manual Control duration to Until Next Automatic Change manually on your device.

If you have set the Manual Control duration to Until you resume schedule (∞), Offline Smart Schedule won’t activate and your devices will follow the last temperature you manually set.

Any changes manually made on your devices while they were offline will be lost once the devices are back online. You can refer to this article about manual control settings for more details.
