Water-based underfloor heating systems are usually controlled by one wired thermostat per room. tado° Wired Smart Thermostats can replace these existing room thermostats. If you have multiple rooms with underfloor heating, you will need one Wired Smart Thermostat for each room that you would like to control with tado°.

Optionally, you can enhance this setup by installing an add-on tado° Wireless Receiver to control the boiler.

These heating systems can be controlled with one of the following setups:

Wired Smart Thermostats control each room with underfloor heating independently. tado° controls the valve that regulates the flow of water into the room.

Rooms without Smart Thermostats remain controlled by conventional room thermostats.

The Smart Thermostats communicate with the tado° Wireless Receiver. tado° turns on the boiler when heating is needed in any room.

This setup allows for the ideal temperature control of every room and ensures the boiler does not turn on unnecessarily.

The Wireless Receiver will turn on the boiler when any of the tado° controlled rooms calls for heat.

The rooms not controlled by tado° only receive heat when the Wireless Receiver turns the boiler on.
