Which heating system interfaces does tado° support?

The Smart Thermostat supports a variety of interfaces all in one device. The most commonly used interface to control heating systems is still a relay (On/Off) connection. tado° controls up to two relays (requires the Extension Kit) and can hence not only control heating, but optionally also hot water, a pump or a second heating stage.

Analog controlled heating systems allow the modulation of the power output of the boiler, which directly influences the flow temperature. The Smart Thermostat supports analog heating system interfaces from the following manufacturers: Bosch, Junkers, Stiebel Eltron, Vaillant, Wolf and Worcester.

Digital communication between your Smart Thermostat and your heating system allows not only a modulating control of your boiler, but in most cases also adds features such as controlling hot water preparation and the hot water temperature.

tado° supports digital communication for a range of manufacturers and standards - see the table below for an overview. Please note that not all boilers by the manufacturers listed below also support digital communication.
