I think that the real inside temperature is higher/lower than what tado° is showing. What can I do?

For every tado° room, the measured temperature is shown in the Room Screen in the app. This measurement is done by the tado° device that is set as the Measuring Device in that room. For rooms with more than one tado° device installed, you can choose which of them should measure the temperature.

If you think that the measured temperature on tado° is not correct, you can adjust it by:

1. Changing the Measuring Device of the room

When multiple tado° heating devices are installed in the same room, it is possible that the device you've set as the Measuring Device is not the best to give an accurate temperature measurement.

For instance, you may have set a Smart Radiator Thermostat as your Measuring Device. But it may be showing a higher temperature as it is located too close to the radiator. If you have both a Smart Radiator Thermostat and a Smart Thermostat in a room, it is better to use the Thermostat as the Measuring Device.

Please ensure that the Smart Thermostat is placed in a suitable location for measuring the temperature.

To change the Measuring Device, go to the respective room in Settings > Rooms. Choose from the different tado° devices in that room in the Measurements section.

2. Setting an offset value for the Measuring Device

If there is only one tado° device in a room, you can use a standard thermometer to check the current temperature. The difference between the actual temperature and the measured temperature on tado°  is called the temperature offset. If there is such an offset, you can make tado° take this into account for future measurements.

To set or change the temperature offset, go to the respective room in Settings > Rooms. Once an offset is set, tado° displays the measured temperature including the offset.

Please note: If a Smart Radiator Thermostat is selected as the Measuring Device, the offset can only be set in full degrees. For Smart Thermostats, the offset can be set in steps of 0.1°C.
